What platforms does Crawl Cove run on?

Crawl Cove is a native Windows app — Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. There is no Mac, Linux or browser version. Every active subscription gives you the Windows (.exe) installer, downloadable from your account dashboard. It is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may show a "Windows protected your PC" notice naming an unknown publisher the first time you run it — click "More info", then "Run anyway". A single license key can activate multiple devices up to your plan's device limit (Studio, for example, covers 10 devices — each with its own client list).

Does my data leave my machine?

No. Crawl data, client names, audit results, and all credentials are stored in a local SQLite database on your machine. API keys are encrypted at rest using the OS keychain. Nothing is sent to Crawl Cove servers during a crawl or at any other time.

How is this different from Screaming Frog?

Screaming Frog is a powerful raw-data tool, but it dumps spreadsheets and leaves the interpretation to you. Do I need API keys for Search Console or Core Web Vitals?

For Google Search Console you will need to connect your Google account (standard OAuth — Crawl Cove never stores your Google password). For CrUX and Lighthouse there are no API keys required at all — both use free public endpoints. CrUX pulls real 28-day field data from the Chrome User Experience Report, so you see what your actual visitors experienced rather than a lab simulation. Bing Webmaster Tools uses a free API key from your Bing account. Setup takes a few minutes and is guided inside the app.
